Female Genital Mutilation?

Salam Ustaz!

"The World Economic Forum (WEF) is a Geneva-based non-profit foundation best known for its annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland which brings together top business leaders, international political leaders, selected intellectuals and journalists to discuss the most pressing issues facing the world including health and the environment." (As quoted by Wikipedia)

This year, Julia Lalla-Maharajh will be invited to address fellow audience about this issue; Female Genital Mutilation. She wants to 'abolish' this practise of FGM because in her opinion, it is a violation of female rights & it cause psychological trauma/pain to females.

Actually, by right, other than male circumcision, we as muslims also do practice female circumcision right? Ustaz, can you clarify this matter?
